John Brennan is a sophomore music major at USF and resides in Lutz, Florida. John has been recognized on numerous occasions for his accomplishments in both art and music on a local, state and national level. John is principal flute for the USF Wind Ensemble and studies music education. Before college he was a member of many honor bands as well as the Patel Conservatory Youth Symphony which played at Carnegie Hall under the direction Dr. William Weidrich.
John is a gifted self taught artist in both the contemporary and wildlife styles. His work in both styles has won statewide juried competitions, graced the covers of magazines, been featured on television segments and is now on tour nationally. John paintsweekly with his good friend Ernest C. Simmons, a nationally acclaimed wildlife artist, at his Dunedin studio. In high school, John's contemporary work was selected for inclusion in the Gasparilla Art Festival, The first time a high school student was so honored. At only 19 years of age, John Brennan is quickly becoming one the most recognized emerging artists in the country.
John grew up with his family on the tropical island of Sint Maarten in the Northeast Caribbean. He has always loved and been involved in both art and music from early childhood. The beautiful colors of the Caribbean are still evident in John's " Symphonic Colors " collection of acrylic paintings. This work has given John the ability to combine his love for music and art into a colorful and vibrant collection of unique pieces that project his deep love for both.
