Ken Loomer Big Band
Ken is from Hartford Connecticut and has been playing drums for over 40 years. His first professional job was working with the great trumpet artist Clark Terry. Ken also did many of the broadway shows that first tried out in the New Haven, Connecticut before going to New York. Ken moved down to Florida in the mid 70's and went to HCC and USF to get his degree in Business. He was also the first drummer to receive the outstanding soloist award at the National Association of Jazz Educators Jazz Festival for college division players. Drummer Ken Loomer and his Swinging Big Band have created a style that touches all people and all generations. It is strong, it is happy, it is the music of today reaching for tomorrow. Many of the charts in the Ken Loomer Big Band are original arrangements, plus those done by Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Bob Mintzer and other famous big bands.
